Young Entrepreneurs of Oregon
Vision
We envision an Oregon where all young people have the social network they need to enable each individual’s unlimited entrepreneurial potential.
The vision of Young Entrepreneurs of Oregon is to develop an open network of individuals and organizations that supports Oregon students and young professionals in reaching their full entrepreneurial potential. We envision a symbiotic ecosystem of generation z (college students, young profesionals, and high school students), startup founders, investors, academics, and business people. We envision a network where participants can develop mutually rewarding and beneficial relationships for the betterment of young Oregonians as well as for the future of Oregon’s startup and business communities.
Mission
Our mission is to create enriching networking and relationship building opportunities for young Oregonians interested in entrepreneurship.
We aim to create and facilitate enriching networking and relationship building opportunities opportunities where young Oregonians can meet and network with each other as well as with those in their local startup and business communities. Through networking opportunities both large and small across Oregon and SW Washington, we help young Oregonians and their local startup and business communities create the relationships needed for entrepreneurial development and success. It is through our efforts that we build a social fabric that benefits our local and statewide communities and economies.
Why
Not Enough Networking Opportunities Exist for Gen Z in Oregon
Gen Z college students, young professionals, and high school students have limited networking opportunities to connect with each other and with others in the startup/entrepreneurship space, especially if they are not in college and/or are situated outside of the Portland Metro. Some colleges have startup programs/networking opportunities for students interested in business/entrepreneurship, however these are usually only accessible to students and often don’t help to connect students from different college campuses. Even fewer entrepreneurship-focused networking opportunities exist, if any, for gen Z working professionals and high school students. There is a very large gap in the networking possibilities for Oregon’s gen Z. What if we could find ways to connect students from different colleges and high schools with each other? What if we could find ways to connect gen Z working professionals with each other, and with college students and high school students? What if we could find ways to not only connect Oregon’s Gen Z with each other, but with Oregon’s startup and business community? The results may be staggering. We could find Oregon’s Gen Z inspired and enabled, pursuing their own entrepreneurial endeavors and contributing positively to Oregon’s startup and business scene.
